Are you a secret admirer? Or want to add a little secret message to your Valentines?

I think this idea is super adorable and adds an extra flare to exchanging Valentines!

They have a blank back so they can be used for this activity, or if your friends just want to give a Valentine with a personalized work of art, they can draw on the back!
To write your secret message all you need is a white crayon and some watercolors!
Use the white crayon to draw a picture or write a message.
He’s like, wait…where did it go? 😄
Then when it’s time for the reveal, simply have the recipient paint the card with watercolors!
TADA!
The wax used in crayons is hydrophobic – that means it repels water! So when you paint the card with watercolors, the drawing made of crayon wax will resist the watercolor revealing the message or picture! Hello science component!!!
More wax = more repelling so if you’re writing a message, make the letters as thick as possible. If they are drawing a picture, encourage them to really go for it even though they can’t see it 🙂 The more crayon the clearer the result will be!
Throw in a little language by teaching the word “wax”…
…and “paintbrush!”
Buff up those fine motor skills not only holding the paintbrush but also carefully holding (and not spilling…too much 😉 ) cups of watercolor!
So here’s my Valentine’s Day plan…shhhhhhhhhh! It’s a secret!!!!!!! 😉
I’ve given my friends postcards for their mommies and daddies, and they’ve written and drawn secret messages! On Valentine’s Day, mommies and daddies will get these super secret deliveries and can work together to decode them with watercolors!!!!!!
I’m only a little excited at how cute this is 😃
