Our last stop on our Easter Journey with Jesus (before Resurrection Sunday) is “What does the cross mean?”
I do these activities on the last day of the school week before Easter Sunday.
Our repeatable phrase for this day is “Jesus says I’m worth it all!”
(as I said in the main Easter Journey with Jesus post, I always summarize the main point of the story into a short phrase using words the kiddos already have some understanding of to make the story more relatable to them! I find this way leads to way more retention than trying to do a whole memory verse at this age, because even if they can memorize the whole verse, they may not understand what they are repeating back to you.)
For this topic, I include two coloring sheets:

For the young toddlers, I spend more time on the phrase “Jesus says I’m worth it all” rather than “Jesus died for me” as a toddler’s sense of someone dying may not really be ready for such an important lesson – however, I like to include the other page so parents can use it if they want to talk about it
Here are some videos of my precious friends practicing our phrase
Yah you are girl!
Oh yah! My friends are DEFINITELY worth it all!
One of my favorite cross crafts is the Paid in Full cross:

It’s so simple but SOOOOOOO full of meaning!
I’ll confess, this is a craft that is more for me and the parents than the kiddo

So to make sure the kiddos get some related self expression, here’s the next craft:

Dollar Tree has these great blank wooden crosses…

…just give them some paint, a paint brush…

…or fingers work too …

…and let them make it their own!

I started with the lighter colors (yellow, red, orange), then after they dried moved on to darker colors so the colors wouldn’t mix and become brown.

Beautiful!

And uniquely their own

I pray you know this Easter that you were worth it all!
