Happy Fall Y’all!
Fall is my favorite season! Nothing is quite as cozy as wrapping up in a blanket (or wearing a sweater so big it might as well be a blanket), drinking something warm surround by pumpkins. I love bringing all that coziness into my classroom!
Here’s some great art projects to get you in the fall mood!
This year I started my kiddos out with three fun tree-themed activities. I created this great bare tree graphic that I used for all these painting projects.
You can download it here!
We’ll start with the easiest:
Painting with Broccoli!
This one is the easiest to prepare and the one with my favorite result. How gorgeous is this? And so simple – all you need is broccoli, paint, and the printout!
Next takes a little work on your part:
Painting with Potatoes!
I had heard of this idea for years and when I first finally tried it I gained great respect for those who came before me 😀
Carving the right print out of a raw potato is not as easy as it looks (hopefully it’s just me and your skillz will put me to shame 😉
What you need: a potato (one half to use, and one half, if you’re like me, that you’ll have to throw away after you practice on it unsuccessfully), a knife, paint, and the printout.
Lastly, if you want something a bit more realistic that involves a fun scavenger hunt, you can glue on real leaves!
Real Leaf Tree!
Start out with a fun leaf hunt with your kiddos and pick out the best of the best together.
I suggest getting freshly fallen or even still attached leaves since the crinkly ones are fragile and hard to glue.
We say “stick stick stick!” in my class – for some reason it always feels better to say it in 3’s 🙂
Yes some kids will rip them…yes some kids will be more interested in sticking their hands in the glue…yes some kids may stare blankly like “you want me to do what?” 😀 that’s all part of the process! Just have fun!
Love it thanks for sharing
Obviously you have not inherited your arts/crafts from me! 😅
